UCO Stormproof Matches Review - Best Matches in the World?

Who knows what the most common firestarter in the world is? I know that's a stupid question because you probably read the title of this post. It's a match!

Matches have actually been around in China since 1366, but the modern match as we know it was invented in 1844. Matches are incredibly popular because they are reliable (when dry), each to use, and very inexpensive.

Today, I will be reviewing a type of match that you probably have never even heard of. It's called a Stormproof Match, and it's made by a company called UCO. These matches also come in a Stormproof Match Kit that comes with a waterproof case, so even if your matches are submerged for an extended period of time, they will be dry.

The matchead on the UCO Stormproof Matches
extends about halfway down the match.
When lit, these Stormproof Matches are supposedly windproof and waterproof; essentially you can't put them out while they're burning. These matches work so well because the chemical that is normally found on a matchhead extends about halfway down the match. Once lit, even if dunked completely underwater, these matches will not go out. I know it sounds crazy, but take a look at the video below to see what I mean.

In the video, I also review the UCO Strike Anywhere Matches. These matches are great for lighting off of any rough surface, which makes them especially handy for use in the outdoors.

If you haven't yet, check out the UCO Matches that we offer. They are a very reliable firelighting source, and best of fall, they are unbelievably affordable!

Take care guys!

Take care!
